Committee Overview

"The UNEP is the United Nations' leading global authority on the environment, driving transformational change on the triple planetary crisis: the crisis of climate change, the crisis of nature, land and biodiversity loss, and the crisis of pollution and waste. Since its founding in 1972, UNEP has served to address humanity's most pressing environmental challenges. From protecting species to restoring the ozone layer, UNEP-facilitated international agreements have made global environmental action possible throughout the years." - unep.org

Topic: Addressing the Melting North and South Poles

The rapid melting of the Arctic and Antarctic ice caps is driven primarily by rising global temperatures caused by these awful greenhouse gasses being emitted by the villains of the world. This melting is leading to the world having rising sea levels, and our sweet, cuddly friends, polar bears. UNEP must address these grueling environmental crises. And have international cooperation to slow the polar ice loss.
